Activities include traditional scouting events such as the First-Aid
Meet, Scout-A-Rama, Soap-Box-Derby, Advancement Weekends and Summer
Camp. The troop also participates in regular horizon-expanding events
such as canoeing, cycling, hiking and local and wilderness camping to
promote teamwork as well as individual skills. Please check out our

579 is to provide an opportunity for our scouts to learn leadership
skills while participating in and enjoying outdoor activities and
community projects. Through the numerous activities the boys have fun
and develop character, citizenship and leadership. Troop 579 is
comprised of many adults with diverse backgrounds and strongly supports
parents’ involvement. You are welcome to visit any troop meeting and
